Star Trek Prodigy season 2 dropped on Netflix this week.
Unfortunately, it's Netflix's usual "drop all episodes at once" model, so it's hard to discuss the series organically, but it is very well worth checking out. I'm currently up to episode 16 and I have to say this is some of the best...
The situation: One of the party members was petrified at the end of the last session, with no means on hand of reversing the effect. The rest of the party need to get them back to town, where there is a friendly cleric who has the ability to cast greater restoration.
The problem: Petrification...
Well, I totally binged that series. As a long-time fan of the original cartoon, the live-action series deviates from it frequently, but in most cases those deviations were not shortcomings - they told a different version of the familiar story that still captured its essence.
Fight choreography...
Interesting.
While multiple concurrent One Piece series on Netflix may seem excessive, as someone who never got into the anime because the art style just didn't work for me I'm curious to see what they come up with.
So, inspired by the Most Iconic Weapons thread, I came up with a couple of potential entries there that seemed to be more suited to their own category. Not sure how much legs this one will have.
Most iconic multipurpose tools or toolsets in science fiction or fantasy.
To start us off:

Slightly weird one, may just be me, but has anyone else found there's no visible cursor when entering text in the Reply box on a thread? It's only happened today, but it occurred on both my phone and my desktop PC. I can still type replies, just can't easily see where the cursor is on-screen.
Is anyone else getting the cookies permissions form pop up every time they load a page? Normally it shows up once a week, then it's "Save & Exit" and done, but this evening it shows up again every time I click a link.
None of my security settings have changed, and I'm experiencing this on both...
I've previously run Rime of the Frostmaiden and had a good time with it, but there are some justified criticisms regarding its premise (please let's not get bogged down in them, though).
So I was thinking of taking a different approach to Auril's curse on the land. Rather than her holding back...
So, one thing about the playtest Warlock that hasn't received much attention in the shadow of its more controversial features is that, depending upon your pact boon, you can now use Charisma, Wisdom or Intelligence as your primary spellcasting stat. That makes a number of potential multiclassing...
I mostly like the Glossary's condensed rules for the Hide action and Hidden condition, but there are a couple of things that could use some improvement.
1.) You need to be out of sight, and "if you can see a creature, you can discern whether it can see you." Wow, that's vague. If the player...
Looks like they're going full Mandalorian this season, which should be interesting.
Can't say I much liked the music in the trailer though, especially at the end.
So, this is a wacky idea I had for a Spelljammer ship that gets around the awkward questions of parking, docking fees, and leaving behind an extremely valuable vessel when going adventuring, along with the possible consequences of becoming marooned on whatever plane or planet you'd arrived on...
Well, I thought I'd get signed up to Paramount+ ahead of its UK launch tomorrow, maybe see if I can catch the first episode of Strange New Worlds at midnight.
Except, I didn't have to. Much to my surprise, it's already available.
Interesting opening episode. I know nothing about the character, so had no idea what to expect. The whole blackouts / dual personality thing was confusing, but deliberately so, very well portrayed from the viewpoint of the befuddled Steven.
It was nice to see a lot of the action taking place in...
For counterspell, I'm a little unclear about how the target's Reaction option works.
"The creature can use its reaction to try to reshape the fraying magic and cast another spell with the same casting time so long as it uses a spell slot level equal to or less than half the original spell...
Okay, it looks good, and the Uncharted games are ripe for inspiration / adaptation to the big screen, but seriously, Tom Holland as Nathan Drake? That does not feel like a good fit.
