I did note that US ethnicities are "odd".

Obviously, what matters is self-identification.

It's a bit refreshing to look at a D&D cover and see characters who could belong to fictional ethnicities which aren't one-to-one stand-ins for real-world ethnic groups. If I squint hard enough, these characters look a bit like any of a dozen different people I know without exactly matching any of them. It actually feels like I'm looking at another world for once, not just Earth With Elves (TM).

Census classifications are often outdated or less relevant (such as in the case of the USA) or inconsistent such as my country which doesn't have East Asian on the census, but instead has separate categories for Chinese, Korean and Japanese, happens to have Filipino as a category independent of Southeast Asian, has West Asian which is defined as Iranian and Afghan, which is separate from Arab which might include North Africans.

Hmm, Not my favorite style of art, but I kind of like the scene and the colors are spot-on.

I especially like the dragon using its breath to heat the tea. Great little detail.
