Me thinks this has potential for future uses for my homebrew setting. Probably haven't even scratched the surface with being more specific with input.

But can it only do square images? That would be really restricting for landscape images since it always wants to use up the whole space so you can't really crop the output either.

The free Bing preview version can only do square images. The full paid Open AI version can do different formats. @Saracenus can speak to that.

So yeah, Bing Image Creator and Bing Chat are stuck at a 1:1 ratio for their images. OpenAI Plus accounts can specify a lot of different ratios (with in limits, 16:9 wide or 9:16 tall are the max).

For example, I used the following prompt in Bing Chat and Fantasy Artisan (My personal GPT Assistant):

PTOMPT: create an image with an aspect ratio of 16:9. Subject: A fae forest during winter. Lighting: Twilight with a hint of stars and motes of golden fairy lights dancing in the air around the trees. Detailed digital painting.

Bing created this:

While ChatGPT/DALL-E 3 created this:

Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming popularity of the new GPT assistants and other bells and whistles OpenAI released this week they had to shut down new GPT plus account requests because their servers could not meet the demand.
