Well if any of you peeps backed Tales of the Valiant, the PDFs for em (Players Guide and Monster Book) are currently out. Check your Kobold Press account and the Coupons section to redeem.
I'm so glad this is backwards compatible. Which means I can play 13th age now with the 2E Beta rules+13th Age: Gloranthra+the current released 13th age classes via 13 Ways.
As well as the superb 3pp supplements by Kinoko Games.
Eh for me, the Baldur's Gates 3 OST, The Witcher OST, The earlier Assassins Creed Osts, The Hellish Quart Early Access OST, and Hades OST all handle my DND games.
Geralts' stage theme from Soul Calibur 6 is great for epic moments.
The beta test rule packets are out if anybody signed up for Playtest materials before. These I think, according to the email, are the most completed version of the rules bar further playtesting.
I must say that I do like the solution to giving a half caster Warlock class variant Pact Magic while not completely invalidating it at the same time.
The price we pay tho, for that feature, is the level we get it at. Yeesh
Aside from that, I think the amount of Pact Magic usage should scale...
Well, just like the default WoTC, that's how the reference/srd doc works. You want more than 1 subclass, ya gotta splurge on ToV. (Plus Kobold Press has to make money too, ya know).
As for not pushing the envelope far enough with 5E, well they have been very upfront with stating that the goal...

Well, looks like we got ToV's full reference doc up. Seems to be the full levels 1-20 for classes with a subclass each.
I think this is pretty much what your gonna be having so far in ToV. So, time to compare the Monk to see if the ToV version is fully better!
IIRC, it was legit the meta reason for why the edition changed to 3rd and how we ended with with the Quadric Wizards/Linear Fighters within the rules system.
