That's understandable from a marketing/selling perspective. Frankly if wizard is going to be the most powerful class (and I'm not saying it is, I'm just saying IF) then the class itself should have a higher skill ceiling. I realize this principle is also antithetical to the above principle, but...

Cantrips should not be at-will. Imagine telling a B/X wizard that they have infinite weightless torch.
