You claimed it wasn't a binary result and it still is, you succeed or you do not. Any time you resort to who cares as part of your argument without actually addressing the point well it's time to step away so I'm done.

Not for what you are trying to achieve, thus it's still a binary system for achieving your goal.. you succeed at what you are trying to achieve regardless of rolling with fear or hope... EDIT: Not making that distinction is exactly how a GM ends up overriding what should have been success in...

Are you talking about Derick from kotlc? If so he was pretty clear about not undermining a success because it's rolled with fear... He's also pretty clear that he isnt going to run DH 100% by the book To be clear x with hope gives the players a hope currency and x with fear gives the GM a fear...

This isnt really true either... In DH a success is a success and a failure is a failure.

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

Running horror with Daggerheart is probably slightly harder than running the experience in D&D. Whether either is worth the time doing it is probably up to the needs of the individual.

That's not really like Daggerheart...like at all. I guess rolling two dice is something.

Critical Role Announces Age of Umbra Daggerheart Campaign, Starting May 29th

No worries I'm excited about my game tomorrow and have no plans to cancel it. We're doing a mini-campaign (unless the players want to keep going) in the Witherwild frame (not ready just yet to create my own but I have actually been eyeing Planescape and thinking of converting it if I stick with...

    Daggerheart General Thread [+]

My main worry for tomorrow is my players managing the spotlight (I have 2 that I feel may assert themselves more than the two brand new to ttrpg players I have just added to my group)... for that I think I will start with the freeform spotlight but if I notice it happening regularly we switch...

Yes because you set a totally different tone for this conversation with your last post... I think I was pretty clear about that when I used the words browbeating and aggressive. I did engage with it... what you have a problem with is that my engagement is... I need more data before I accept X...

I'd be very interested in comparing notes as my group is also 6 people thought I think I might only have 5 for my first session tomorrow.

Critical Role Announces Age of Umbra Daggerheart Campaign, Starting May 29th

Nope, it's stating... Need more data. I've admitted i don't have experience playing the game... thus I believe it is premature to declare it 2x faster than 5e... As for whether I am going to play the game, I've bought it, read it, and have a group who made characters up last Saturday to play...

Ok... because your anecdotal experience is all the data needed to come to a sound conclusion... especially since you earlier rejected another poster's anecdotal claim... but yes continue to tell me how I'm wrong with your minimal data points. I'm not wrong because I haven't come to a conclusion...

This also brings up another point in that for most of the Daggerheart combats it's a smaller group... no Liam and no Laura until episode 4. I'm not saying DH definitively isn't faster than D&D... I'm saying I think it's premature to start claiming it runs 2x faster.
