Reaper Dark Heaven Bones (cheap unpainted plastics)

Cergorach

The Laughing One
Reaper miniatures have release a new line of miniatures called "Dark Heaven Bones", these are cheap unpainted plastics. These are the unpainted versions of their prepainted plastic series, currently only 12 product codes. These are not your regular GW plastics, but a thougher kind, that doesn't work with plastic glues, but it does with regular old super glue. And they take paint without being primed.

Do they take paint because they are pre-primed or it the nature of the plastic they used? For example, the minis in Earth Reborn boardgame have a pre-primer on them so you can paint them.

As far as I know, it's the 'nature' of the plastic used and they are not pre-primed.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a couple of these when they hit the UK stores, as it looks like an excellent way of getting some of the larger miniatures at a fraction of the normal cost (take a look at the cost of the metal version of the purple worm for example) - so hopefully a lot more will follow.

As a side note I would also like to see a few encounter/army packs (perhaps a bunch of different orcs & goblins with a troll or an ogre) in the future for around $10 (probably around £6-7 pounds over here) - but that might just be me ;)

Anyway, it looks like a great start, and I'm already looking forward to seeing what comes next.

I have the prepaint of the Purple Worm. It's really kinda meh... I thought it would be bigger than it was and it wasn't really even on much of a base. Go take a look at one before you buy. The size isn't what you expect, it's not very intimidating unless you are looking for a juvenile worm. I'd rather that I bought a DDM Purple Worm on ebay.

You can do that with S'mon's link listed above (though it needed fixing).
