In 3.5, the title of the Queen of the Succubi was granted to Malcanthet.
A previous holder of the title was Shami-Amourae, and another competitor was revealed to be Lynhkab. A new additional contender, Xinrivae, was also introduced.
While that's fine and dandy for third edition, the whole "Queen of the Succubi" thing just isn't going to work for fourth edition.
Now, that might lead one to the conclusion that these four characters are therefore expendable, and we can toss them out of the game completely like yesterday's news. However, I have another idea.
I've noticed that 4E has a tendency to repurpose and reform older characters and concepts to fit its needs. For example, see Phraxas, who apparently was once mighty Anthraxus.
So, the question is, what do these four ladies become if they are to be included in 4E somehow?
Lynkhab is probably the easiest, as I suspect she wouldn't change a whole lot from how she was introduced in the Planescape book Faces of Evil: the Fiends.
Malcanthet shouldn't be too hard to do, after all she was given a fair amount of depth in her Demonomicon article in Dragon #353. Hedonism would be a big aspect of what she is into.
Shami-Amourae was introduced at the end of the first edition era, and fleshed out again in the Demonomicon feature in Dragon #359. I'm sure someone known as The Lady of Delights, and even in more grandiose fashion, the Goddess of Debased Eros, could be fashioned into something workable.
Xinrivae I don't know a whole lot about, other than the brief description given in Malcanthet's Demonomicon article. She just wanted to take Malcanthet's title, and somehow seduction of women was her thing.
So, what ideas do you have? How do we make them not-Queens of the Succubi, but still interesting characters and powerful presences in the Abyss, each with their own unique approach to demonic femininity?
