D&D General What is the right amount of Classes for Dungeons and Dragons?

Fair enough. For me, if I'm given a choice between (a) adding complexity, (b) removing complexity, or (c) doing nothing, I'm going to vote B every time.

    D&D General Universal Subclasses

I've been allowing it on a case-by-case basis in my campaign, and it actually works really well. I've got a Rogue that chose the Battle Master subclass, and the player absolutely loves it. The addition of maneuvers really dovetails nicely with his character's suite of nimble, skillful actions...

D&D General Are you aware that the New Edition (5.5 whatever) is a part of the 50th Anniversary of D&D?

Funny titles aside, I would throw so much money at them if they re-released the older modules for 5E. Like, buckets of money. Just ask Goodman Games; they've gotten hundreds of my dollars already.

D&D General What is the right amount of Classes for Dungeons and Dragons?

I know you're just being facetious, but there is plenty of room to streamline D&D without resorting to a coin toss. And I think the 13 different character classes, with more than 120 different subclasses, is an excellent place to start.

D&D General What is the right amount of Classes for Dungeons and Dragons?

I'd say more than one, and fewer than ten. It's less about archetypes and roles, and more about unifying all of the mechanics. I don't really need more than one way to swing a sword or cast a spell, but D&D gives us several of each and it makes the game harder to learn, harder to run, and...

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

I'm gonna start a parody thread titled "Why Do People Collect Gnomes [+]" and post a bunch of photographs of different collections all over the world. Really lean into it, 100% serious, reminding everyone that those colorful little ceramic ornaments are not just perfectly acceptable for...

D&D General Are you aware that the New Edition (5.5 whatever) is a part of the 50th Anniversary of D&D?

According to the EN World search bar, you wrote that in January of 2012. I didn't mean to single you guys out--I searched for the terms "6E" and "five years" (or "5 years"), and it returned several pages of results. I just grabbed a few from the first page.

D&D General Are you aware that the New Edition (5.5 whatever) is a part of the 50th Anniversary of D&D?

I wasn't trying to be smug, I was trying to be reassuring! 6E isn't a thing. It's just a myth, nothing to worry about.

D&D General Are you aware that the New Edition (5.5 whatever) is a part of the 50th Anniversary of D&D?

Ah, that old chestnut. Folks around here have been saying "in five years" every single year for over a decade: *posted in 2012

D&D 5E What Do You Not Like About The 2014 5E DMG?

What do I not like about it? The biggest thing? That I haven't even seen it yet. The fact that it isn't on my bookshelf at this very moment.
