D&D (2024) New Dungeon Master's Guide Cover Features Venger (From the D&D Cartoons)

I think they're leaning into LJN myself and I dig it.

D&D General What it means for a race to end up in the PHB, its has huge significance

Still stands as a common experience at one time. I also said, and it’s like people are ignoring that part to drag me, I’m pretty easy to convince.

D&D General What it means for a race to end up in the PHB, its has huge significance

Not at all what I said but cool story bro. I said I don't allow them UNLESS they give me a good reason. I don't run a campaign with them in it, note also my comment on Drow. Imagine that. Could be I wasn't even speaking about my campaign but my experience because I do more than DM. But great...

D&D (2024) Do you plan to adopt D&D5.5One2024Redux?

Revising my original post way back when. I run DCC almost exclusively but I do plan to but the revised books and will see from there. Still most likely sticking to base 5e if I ever get back to D&D.

D&D General What it means for a race to end up in the PHB, its has huge significance

I usually say no to Drow & Dragonborn myself. Drow especially. If a player gives me a strong argument for why that isn't stereotypical then I will relent. It's not that hard to convince me though. Mostly it's because I don't have drow in my homebrew of 30 years and I was not all that keen on the...

D&D General What it means for a race to end up in the PHB, its has huge significance

Usually when I see a Dragonborn it is someone very new to the game and they will change characters pretty quickly because it isn't nearly as cool as it sounded.

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

Yeah but this isn’t Pathfinder. Even without feats 5e is extremely playable and functional.

Cool. That’s not even my argument. TTFN

So did 1e. Stretching like Plastic Man.

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

They aren’t “feats” in the same sense. They are class features. They aren’t something you pick. That’s like saying turn undead is a feat in 2e or BX/BECMI

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

We were fine without them being core for a decade. I run DCC, 3.x derived. No feats and I don’t have to hand out crazier loot for character differentiation. Even with just 7 classes.

    D&D (2024) New D&D Edition's Player’s Handbook Alternate Art Cover Reveal

Reminds me a bit of the artist behind Dragonbane.

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

Does the game need feats? I have always allowed them when running 5e but also have done some one shots where no feats were taken and nothing was missed. I don't want a return to 3.x and 4e where feats dominated the game and it was about "builds" instead of actual character. I moved from D&D to...

    D&D (2024) New D&D Edition's Player’s Handbook Cover Reveal

Adding the toon, LJN and Greyhawk revival has sold me on buying the books at least. Whether I run it or not is another story but this is all great news.

D&D (2024) How Does Greyhawk Fit In To The New Edition?

Aaand the LJN characters on the cover! Called it on Greyhawk though.

D&D General D&D Red Box: Who Is The Warrior?

Has everything to do with it but what you don’t have a right to is to be rude to me and talk down to me telling me what to do. In your self righteousness you seem to have forgotten where WOTC referred to the rules as their IP and how they were just protecting their IP with the “new” OGL. How...

D&D General D&D Red Box: Who Is The Warrior?

It has everything to do with it. The whole controversy in the OGL was lawyers saying that the D&D game was THEIR IP and they didn’t want people making more than they did off the IP. They were bringing everything back in house similar to the 3-4e transition. For a company like Hasbro it’s all IP.
