    "I'm a [BLANK] kid!"

First thought was: (Star Trek) Next Generation kid. I watched a couple of things as a teenager, but TNG was probably the most defining (it was THE thing I wanted to watch when I came home from school). But I think I'm also a "Sendung mit der Maus" and "Löwenzahn" kid (for the non-Germans here...

D&D General Greyhawk to Faerun and Beyond: A Multiversal D&D Lore Book Is Coming This Fall

With the amount of pages they have, I don't expect much of a deep dive for any of the settings. But still, it sounds neat. I think I might buy it.

    General DCC RPG thread

I'm not able to spot any difference between 10th and 11th printing (and 4th printing does not seem different either except for the illustration on the second page).

    What's the best Star War?

Since we're just trading anecdotes: as someone who is over 35, but not yet 50, I can add that I'm neither a big fan of the prequels nor of the prequels. I don't outright hate them, though, and it's a more a case of: I'm not mad, just disappointed. It also varies per film - I find both Episode I...

Phrased read in the forums that would be good names for TTRPGs

Excellent band name! Also, not sure why, but I feel this will be either Postrock or Black Metal.

What makes something "classic feel with modern design"?

The English Wikipedia has a bit of information on this (I think one of the Swedish users here on the board also elaborated on this, but I don't remember in which thread exactly: Drakar och Demoner. In short, the original game evolved from BRP and Magic World, and the anthropomorphic ducks were...

No More Massive Tomes of Rules

I'm not sure about that. Just going with "what's plausible in the fiction" requires that the whole group has a pretty good consensus about the game world and the type of story that will be created during a session. This might require quite a bit of negotiation/consensus building, otherwise e.g...

    Art Direction: Consistent or Varied?

I'm a big fan of a consistent art style in RPG books (or really, in any books containing illustrations). Sometimes a good art director can make different styles work together well in a book, though.

No More Massive Tomes of Rules

Makes sense to me. Magic is the only area where I really felt Dragonbane was lacking something.

No More Massive Tomes of Rules

To be fair: at least the German version of CoC had a weapons source book which has 300 pages (Link). Now it's not merely mechanics, and also not very relevant for my personal playstyle, but apparently there is a target audience for such a book, even among CoC players.

No More Massive Tomes of Rules

Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of large tomes. And that applies even when I like the game (e.g. DCC). This applies to book size, where I favour digest size books (best is German B5, but A5, half letter or 6"x9" are fine, too) over larger ones (or rather their PDF version, since my preferred...
