Designed by lead designers on D&D 3E and 4E, 13th Age was the most anticipated game of the year way back in 2013 right here on EN World. 10 years later it's back with a new edition, and has been voted the 3rd most anticipated game of 2023 by EN World users. Join us as we speak to Rob Heinsoo about this new edition.

Doing the best imitation of myself
I'm really divided. It might be a "wait and see." I don't know if it will be something I'll actually use.
I have the playtest in front of me. It's not final (of course) but if you have any questions about "did this get changed?" I'll try and answer them.

I still like to follow this game even though it didn’t click for my table. Weirdly we were all big 4e fans but 13th Age didn’t quite scratch the itch. I think the 2 biggest missed for us was the scaling damage dice and the fighter’s “roll an attack and then see what ability you get” vs a more tactical power choice.

But it has a lot of good ideas that I mined for DnD and other games!

Because it indicates no EU friendly shipping
Pelgrane is based in Britain, so I'd think their EU shipping rates would be more friendly than a US-based company.

The fighter's (and bard's) flexible attacks are gone in the beta playtest, replaced by more straightforward abilities.
