D&D General How Do You Handle Falling Damage?

They can, but falling from orbit and walking out of a Looney Tunes crater in the ground seems fitting for the high-level characters there.

D&D General How Do You Handle Falling Damage?

Just 20d6 max for 5e, enough to be dangerous, but not too bad later on. Hasn't come up for PF2, but I'd probably use the 5e version for that as well. Falling isn't that dangerous compared to the other things PCs are expected to face and survive.

D&D 5E How do you handle randomly rolling for stats

I prefer not rolling at all like with 5e's point buy or PF2's bonuses, but if the DM requires it I always keep what I get, no rerolls. It's how I ended up with a 6 STR, 7 DEX, 8 CON, 10 INT, 12 WIS and 12 CHA Druid in a 3.5 adventure. Somehow she survived the whole thing.

    D&D 5E The Magical Martial

I meant in Infinity War when Thanos arrives in Wakanda, he didn't have Mjolnir then. Still stopped Thanos hand and survived a punch, which was cool, but not really something he should be able to do.

    D&D 5E The Magical Martial

The issue with comparing a character in a game with a superhero like Batman, Captain America or the Punisher is that these guys survive the big threats mostly through copious amounts of plot armor and their enemies forgetting the powers they have. Batman isn't gonna survive a point blank attack...

D&D 5E Why I think gold should have less uses in 5e, not more.

PCs could choose to retire early with a few thousand gold, but they'd be missing out on a lot, mainly power. At level 5 you're pretty strong, but an orc war band, an evil lich, or a dragon in your area can still ruin your life on a whim. If you keep leveling up you'll be able to defend...

    D&D 5E The Magical Martial

I think giving more uses to skills is a good idea, although bounded accuracy doesn't play too well with the epic uses. With higher numbers you can just go, "Yeah, you can walk through a stone wall with a DC 45 Athletics check, go nuts", while in 5e I think that'd be more on the realm of a...

D&D 5E How would YOU nerf the wizard? +

I think just nerfing the outlier spells or poorly written spells should do the trick (Simulacrum, Hypnotic Pattern, Animate Objects, Glyph of Warding, Forcecage, Wall of Force, Magic Aura, Magic Jar, etc). Maybe limit casting in armor as well.

    D&D 5E The Magical Martial

Been playing Divinity Original Sin and found it interesting there how everyone has magic, even the "martial" classes. The Man at Arms is good at tanking and hitting things, but they also have a super scream that buffs all allies with resolve, can charge like a ram in a straight line and knock...

Watched the trailer. Man, that looks bad.

Trailer Mufasa: The Lion King | Teaser Trailer

Seems to have made 1.6 billion dollars at the worldwide box office, the most for any animated movie ever. Probably worth a sequel, although I imagine it might not do as well with way less nostalgia on an original story, and the "live action" remakes having lost steam for Disney.

    D&D 5E The Magical Martial

In all seriousness though, non-magical 5e martials can get pretty crazy, but mostly due to general rules of the system, not their own class abilities. When you can survive being bitten by a moon-sized monster, or shrug off an explosion that's like a small nuke, it's hard to say you aren't...

    D&D 5E The Magical Martial

The Hunter Ranger has an ability called Volley to attack everyone within 10 feet of a point as an action, so 16 medium creatures, or even 64 tiny creatures if they're all crammed together (a lot more if you consider 3-D space).

D&D General One thing I hate about the Sorcerer

If we want a superhuman thing that D&D humans can pull off, a level 1 Rogue or Fighter can grapple a Rhinoceros in place against its will, and even drag it around. Need a bit of luck, but it's definitely possible, even for the purely non-magical classes.
