D&D General Brainstorming an inland temple of a bronze age sea goddess

The party is only 3rd level with no druids, so shapeshifting into fish might require some extra effort, but I'm going to give them a week or two to come up with how to pull off the heist. It won't be possible to grab the stone, shapeshift into a fish, and escape, because the stones are divine...

D&D General Brainstorming an inland temple of a bronze age sea goddess

These are some neat ideas. Weird, which is wonderful. Thanks!

    D&D General 5E, A5E, or ToV?

I worked on A5E a bit, and while I like a lot of the intention, for now I stick with O5E, though O5E also doesn't really work the way I wish it did. A5E definitely lets you make distinctive characters. Even two fighters will play differently. But much of the new content feels (understandably)...

D&D General Brainstorming an inland temple of a bronze age sea goddess

People might make an offering and be baptized for a blessing - that gives you an excuse into the inner pool. Maybe there are decorations around the temple of kulilu (a sort of giant carp-seal) which can be commanded (by a priest or by the golem guardian) to spray waves or even scalding steam...

D&D General Brainstorming an inland temple of a bronze age sea goddess

My PCs will recruited to steal a magical clay tablet from the temple of a sea goddess, and I need ideas for what challenges stand in their way. In my setting, the sea goddess Beshel is depicted as a writhing tentacled thing, prayed to by fishermen who desire bounty and sailors who fear the...

D&D General Tell me about your crime campaigns.

After session 0 character creation, I think I'm going to draw upon Black Sails as a basis for the campaign, just without, y'know, sails. The first arc will build toward stealing a major holy relic while it is being transported from an old battleground to the great ziggurat in the capital city...

D&D General Tell me about your crime campaigns.

My D&D group is doing session zero tonight to decide what kind of campaign we want to run, and each member of the group will make their proposal, and we will decide on what sounds most fun for the most of us. I want to make a pitch for a campaign where the player characters are criminals...

ZEITGEIST The final-final fights (super spoilers for 12 and 13)

If this were cinema, cut back and forth. But the brain handles cross cutting fine in the span of a few minutes. Tabletop combat sadly just takes too long.
