D&D Movie/TV Paramount+ Will Not Proceed with Dungeons & Dragons Live-Action TV Show

Yes. Hussar said it was over $20 in Japan for 20 years. So i looked it up because that didn't sound right based on a pricing chart I had read. Sure enough, it was not right. So I looked up a popular theater chain in Tokyo, went to buy tickets, and yup, it was $12, or as low as $6.

Uh, what? Average price in 2023 was 1,424 Japanese yen. That's $9. Price at one chain was 1,900 yen. That's $12.

I absolutely agree. Covid cost that movie some of its budget as well (they had a shut down and re-start). But if they'd made that a $100M movie I bet it sells just as many tickets. Did we need Michelle Rodriguez and Hugh Grant, or could they have just done Chris Pine for name recognition...

Again, we just had solid evidence you can have great visuals for much lower cost. It just won the Oscar for visual effects. Hollywood has gotten incredibly lazy on VFX. They throw money at the issue for mediocre results. When you actually gather a good dedicated team in-house at VFX that are...

It's worse. In Los Angeles in certain test areas AMC has raised prices for opening weekend. Furiosa was $20.50 per ticket at an ordinary theater. Not IMAX, just their regular theater. That exact same theater was $12.50 per ticket 4 months ago (I checked - still have it in my app). That crossed...

Godzilla Minus One has good visuals and $15M total budget. Hollywood needs to stop taking the easy path of just throwing money at visuals. It's not necessary. There are thousands of superb actors who don't charge Clooney money. Hollywood needs to stop depending on actor name recognition as...

As an adult with a family and a job that takes a lot of hours, I can't see all that many shows in a year. There are well more than enough well written shows that are not animated. I enjoy good acting.

We're the same. But there is no reason to go animated. Cutting the budget and doing more with less should be the path forward. They're just not getting a lot for the last $100M on these blockbusters.

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

Fair point. It's the haters I am referring to.

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

People hate gnomes because those haters are bad people with damaged souls

D&D 5E Rune Knight Is The Best Fighter Overall IMHO.

Disagree. First, it can be ranged very effectively. Second, much more powerful all-around as opposed to combat-only. Third, multiclasses best. Echo Knight is the best overall fighter.

D&D (2024) Alternate 2024 DMG Cover features Lolth!

It's fine, but boring. It's a static image. She's doing very little, there is little in the background, there is not much adventure implied. Why are you guys so gah gah over this?
