WotC WotC can, and probably should support multiple editions of D&D.

yes, 5e will have sold more than 1e when you count core, supplements, and adventures (but not magazines and novels). I meant that we do not have good numbers for that however, unlike the PHB numbers

that will make for a great comparison… what are we comparing? Number of products for each? Pretty sure the Demon Lord wins that one easily if you count number of products

according to Teos Abadia it captures between 1/4 and 1/3 of sales…

if you compare PHB sales, sure, if you want to count all modules, no

if you count the magazines (and apparently novels…) you may be correct, without them 5e will have sold more, easily and by ‘includes the novels’ you mean 29.5M of that are novels…

    Tell Me About DC20

ha, same here. Don’t really like that from a mechanics perspective. I understand why he did it, but finding an explanation for it that is not gamist is not so essy

D&D (2024) Check Out The 2025 Monster Manual Alternate Cover!

looks the same to me, I’d attribute any color difference in the frame more to the pic taken / monitor than the actual book color

not so sure about that, you can maybe fit the entire 1e print run into the 5e core book run. It takes a while to get to the about 4.5M books the PHB is ahead alone, the other two core books are mostly buffer ;)

not sure that database is still around, and it certainly is incompatible with the DDB one, so this would be a proper migration, even if DDB supported all of 4e’s features (it does not even for 5e from what people say…)

valid question, the original heartbreakers never made that kind of money, YT and KS are new territory. I’d say it still has all the hallmarks of a heartbreaker in its design, and if it fizzles out in a few years it still qualifies, but DungeonDude’s heart might not be as broken as he made a...

WotC WotC can, and probably should support multiple editions of D&D.

but that is because it is a sports game and the Football fans want the team changes reflected in game, not because the gameplay and technology are so much better. You could not keep that schedule with core rules for any TTRPG and you cannot really do so with most games either, there is no...

it’s not like the world stopped producing Karens 10 years ago, I am also pretty sure the one I ran into a year or so ago was not yet 40
