I just use golems as a base and then add slightly modified ship tech. Starships in d20 future are catastrophically underpowered for their size at a certain point.
Yeah I had to do a lot of DMfu to make them not just suck complete ass at a certain point. I find the Star Wars D20 system is more in line but also has different rules for combat and such so you have to try to splice them somewhat. I generally use d20 future for lower tech civilizations and star wars for higher tech civilizations as they're considerably more powerful.
