D&D General Baldurs Gate, Darksun, Fallout Mashup.

That's a good point. Still, Vaults could be Dwarven communities which chose to isolate themselves. They could be one part Fallout and one part Dragon Age Dwarves.

D&D General Baldurs Gate, Darksun, Fallout Mashup.

Lizardfolk (or perhaps Kobolds given the general culture and vibe of desert lizardfolk) would fit a post-apocalyptic world. It may be interesting to see how they interact with Deathclaws. I was trying to think of how to do ghouls, but I'm unsure what fits. Both Dhamphir and Reborn kinda fit...

Vaults could be Dwarven settlements that have secluded themselves from the radiated surface world.

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

Keebler Elves do have the hats, so that tends toward gnome-hood. Their skill with confectionery also aligns with the "elves" in Disenchantment. I think it may be the familiarity with humans and slight touch of Appalachia-adjacent culture that seems a bit off to me. Though, that could be...

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

That's a good question. They have some similarities to the elves from Disenchantment, but they still come across a little more elfy. I think it could go either way. There is some fault in my view of Disenchantment anyway because that world does have its own version of gnomes.

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

I think the "elves" in Disenchantment would be gnomes.

D&D (2024) Alternate 2024 DMG Cover features Lolth!

I like it more than the other one.

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

Years ago, I ran a campaign in which I did something like that but in different way. I had an area of my campaign world that was a large island populated by Halflings and Gnomes. To the outside world, the two words were used interchangeably and both looked exactly the same. To the...

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

Possibly Though, seemingly for many tables, the result of that approach has been to produce neither a want nor a need.

Black Flag Kobold Press' Black Flag System Reference Document Released

Are there at documents that compare and contrast D&D 5e with the various versions of not-5e? I don't feel that I have much, if any, idea about what these products are offering as changes or improvements.

D&D General Which Edition Had The Best Dragons?

I was thinking the same thing. I remember 4E fights with dragons during which some of them didn't even get to take an action before getting killed.

Are TTRPGs Even a "Good" Hobby?

For me, I find that rpgs are a great hobby. It is also one of the very few activities left that encourages interacting with people face-to-face, rather than being glued to a screen. I. I feel as though most of these concerns can be addressed through communication. What are the GM's expectations...

D&D General The Problem With Paladin's Medieval Origins (+)

A second thought: The area of discomfort that you mention feeling may be inspiration for a campaign setting or an adventure. Two groups of holy warriors who both see themselves as "good" (whatever that means to you, your group, and the in-world fiction of the groups) could find themselves in...

D&D General The Problem With Paladin's Medieval Origins (+)

I agree that there is some real-world inspiration to parts of the class. However, it is very easy to play the class (especially in 5E) without touching any of that. One of the reasons I typically play Oath of Ancients Paladins is because, in my head, it's more connected to older pagan...

D&D (2024) New Dungeon Master's Guide Cover Features Venger (From the D&D Cartoons)

I'm curious if there's a reason why Dungeon Master wasn't wanted for the cover.

D&D (2024) New Dungeon Master's Guide Cover Features Venger (From the D&D Cartoons)

Not sure that I care for this one. The artwork is a cool piece of artwork; it just doesn't strike me as a cover piece nor does it strike me as something that embodies a DMG.

    Most Rewatchable MCU Movies

The only one with which I disagree is Shang Chi. I'd likely rank Winter Soldier higher.

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

I'm aware that the forest gnome is there. 🤷‍♂️ Something just seems off about the whole thing. I feel like D&D Gnomes are simultaneously trying to cover too much identity while also having none. I also feel that there's not enough effort put into exploring haberdashery via gnomes.
