100% correct. Movie viewing has changed as the quality and experience of how viewing has improved dramatically. The pandemic accelerated something that had already started. Live sports to an extent have experienced something similar.

Disagree. It’s just as easy to add side quests or other plot points. I have seen a couple DMs who struggled organizing sand box style adventures. Leading to a disjointed and quite frankly boring adventure.
I think railroad adventures are underrated. Sand box adventures sound great but in the hands of the wrong DM they turn into a meandering slog.
