Dear Clint:
I think you are right. I'm sorry that I yucked on your yum (a great expression, by the way). Thankfully, there are dozens of ways to play D&D and I hope my comments didn't inhibit how you play and/or enjoy it...
You are correct. The community is very open and accepting...
I could not agree more with the critiques I've read so far.
When I want to play D&D, I don't want to be a spectator. I want to run a character or be the DM. I appreciate the contributions of talented voice actors and professional Dungeon Masters. I also admire the editing, the special...
Dear Mr. Dunwoody:
I am grateful that you have posted this and I am also glad to join this conversation. As a long-term DM (with 40 years of experience), I like to read as much as I can about time-saving strategies and alternative perspectives to DM'ing. This was one of the best articles I've...
Greetings! I've always enjoyed the discussion threads on Peregrin's Nest... Here are my ideas:
1. Fast Zombies. A nasty surprise for any jaded adventuring party.

Personally, I haven't been this excited about a game for many years. For me, ShadowDark is my Holy Grail. In fact, I can finally...
I'm grateful they're making a book on Phandelver that will hopefully tie-in the box sets and the region. It's a well developed resource that is excellent for introducing D&D to new players.
In 4e, I appreciated the Nentir Vale (one of the few things I liked about 4e). It was like an...
The description of Dwarven Fiasco is oddly phrased: "They pooled their resources but stray light from a distant star pierced their magic circle."
I have no idea what that means. Any suggestions?
I agree.
The "planning phase" could take as much time as needed, but once the heist started, I would go round-by-round. The rules easily accommodate this (as if it were combat). Keeping track of time would not be difficult.
Follow-up:
I gave the book a quick scan. Good format. Great art. Excellent maps.
A note on the maps: Most of the adventures have a "hand-drawn" map (from an informant, an infiltrator, or insider) in addition to a more accurate map for the DM... Brilliant!
