Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

A propos of nothing, I now want an all-gnome, all-bard campaign wherein the party calls itself "Gnickelback".

Brownies: Should they they be fudgy (ie gross and undercooked) or cakey (ie, heavenly and delightful)?

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Yeah, I think people forgot that the point of that thread was to not make a negative comment at all, and replace it in the "i didn't comment" thread with a different fun comment to defuse one's own irritation. It wasn't really supposed to be a place to just mutter something under your breath...

D&D 5E New Monster Manual Cover

I think if it literally said "Boo" with a red arrow like that on the cover, it would become a must-buy for me.

D&D 5E New Monster Manual Cover

What's the rocky/fiery monster on the back cover, behind the gnoll? I don't recognize it.

What RPG Do You Wish Had A Retroclone?

Prince Valiant is often highly recommended, but it's so long out of print and the second edition was such a small run that the game is still practically impossible to find legitimately. It might be nice if that engine was available as a more generic retroclone.

    D&D General Boomer/GenX 5e? (+)

As a Gen Xer, I just shrug and mutter, "Whatever, dude."

D&D General What is the Quintissential D&D Mascot Monster?

Classic answer, imo, is red dragon. But to represent the glorious ridiculousness that makes the game not mere fantasy, but D&D? I vote beholder.

D&D (2024) New Dungeon Master's Guide Cover Features Venger (From the D&D Cartoons)

They're immediately recognizable to GenX, sure, but as characters they're still usable by anyone young or old. It's not like a DM needs a special GenX Identicard to put Venger into an adventure or something.

D&D (2024) New Dungeon Master's Guide Cover Features Venger (From the D&D Cartoons)

Fine for what it is, decent looking mooks, lieutenants, and BBEG; but I wish it had less pose and more action. As fan service, though, it seems a missed opportunity, imo. It might have been neat, for example, to get a reimaging of (what to me is) a pretty iconic image of Venger on his...

Threads "marked as read" that I haven't read

Update on this: This problem seems to have cleared up: no more random threads are getting wrongly unflagged as unread. The effect occurred frequently up until this afternoon. It had been limited to specific threads, but those are now showing up in bold, as expected. One thing I immediately...

D&D General Treasure, trinkets and gems

Well that's awkward, sorry about that. I know that a long time ago (ie, early 3e days) Phillip Reed did a few little publications focusing on non-magical treasure, which seem to all got wrapped up into The Book of Unusual Treasure. But it doesn't appear to be available anymore, not even as PDF...

What is the most evocative art you've seen in a TTRPG?

I enjoy Luka Rejec's art in Ultraviolet Grasslands; as well as Andrew Kolb's illustration for his Neverland and (especially) Oz setting books. Absolutely agree. I was going to say the same of Brom for Dark Sun.

D&D General Treasure, trinkets and gems

The Mother of All Treasure Tables is exclusively mundane items, iirc. It's a book of random roll tables for different gp values (for 3.5e, unless it's been updated). It's not separate treasures, though, but rather parcels of treasure. (So a particular roll wouldn't result in, eg, a single object...
