What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

That would be a fascinating TV series, a different spin on doomsday peppers.

What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

I had to look up what M-DISC was and I expect that people in the future are going to be accessing it in public or university libraries in a similar way to us using microfiche to read an article from the 1800s due to the general lack of dvd and blue-ray technology.

    Hundreds of Beavers (the movie)

Having now watched the trailer I have to say "wut?"

    Spoilers Godzilla Minus One [spoilers]

I watched this just a couple days ago, was really well done. I like the juxtaposition between the Japanese version of Godzilla and the current Hollywood version. He is not in any way a good guy in this version.

    So who else….

I like the idea of someone getting home from a weekend games expo, dumping their bags on the bed, opening them and going "wtf?" When they find a sword in there.

What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

I bought the fabula Ultima techno fantasy atlas. FU is a neat little system from reading it but I still need to get around to running it. Might need to get physical copies of the books first since that's easier to pass around the gaming table.

And why is there 27 pages of people arguing about it?

D&D 5E Thoughts on Divorcing D&D From [EDIT: Medievalishness], Mechanically Speaking.

I've thought about giving everyone a defense bonus equal to half their proficiency bonus. Then you can give certain classes a bonus based on the class. Something like a warrior class gains a +2 bonus, the monk adds their wisdom bonus, maybe the rogue gains a +2 as well. Wizards or their...

D&D General What is the right amount of Classes for Dungeons and Dragons?

4e had this problem I think, though it may have also been due to the winding down of the edition. The rune priest in particular had little extra support for it. It may have been different had all of the 4e classes been released early on, but the later the release of a class naturally meant less...

D&D 5E Thoughts on Divorcing D&D From [EDIT: Medievalishness], Mechanically Speaking.

Just thought this was interesting to note, Ned Kelly, an Australian outlaw (or hero depending on who you ask) made some armour for him and his gang in 1879 that repelled bullets. He was stopped only because he was shot in the legs which weren't covered...

D&D 5E Thoughts on Divorcing D&D From [EDIT: Medievalishness], Mechanically Speaking.

In the case of armour vs guns, maybe add in a ballistic AC, perhaps the armour is only half as effective so that leather does nothing to help against bullets and studded leather only provides 11+Dex mod. This would lead to heavy armour being phased out as having an AC of 14 against bullets when...

D&D 5E Convince me that the Ranger is a necessary Class.

This reads a little tongue-in-cheek but I do like subclasses that add another stat to a class's requirements. Things like the charismatic swashbuckler getting bonuses for a high Charisma bonus which causes the player to branch out into a second stat that they otherwise may not have. There's also...

D&D General How Do You Handle Falling Damage?

I use the current rules for the most part but a 10ft fall can be completely negated with an acrobatics checks.

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

Last game I got to throw the gnome across a river, twice, so that he could tie down a rope to help others across. That was a fun use for a gnome.

    D&D General What are humans?

I like using the ideas from WoW and 4e. Humans are diplomatic, have a will to survive, pick up a diverse range of skills and feats. If I wanted to put it into game terms, it might look something like: ASIs: three +1s to assign to any stat. I think this makes them a little more diverse than the...

D&D General What is the right amount of Classes for Dungeons and Dragons?

Since this thread is now another psion class thread I'm gonna throw in some thoughts. I'd like to see one class for psionics and subclasses for things like the psychic warrior. I wouldn't want a psychic class to use the current spellcasting mechanics, it should be somewhat distinct. This is...

D&D General What is the Quintissential D&D Mascot Monster?

Dragons would be right up there, I also think the mimic represents DnD quite well, it seems to show up in various media based on the game in one form or another. Beholder is a good choice as well, I feel like illithids might also be a good choice but they have a different feel to them that I'm...

D&D 5E Thoughts on Divorcing D&D From [EDIT: Medievalishness], Mechanically Speaking.

The 2e Gothic earth setting might provide some good ideas.

D&D 5E Thoughts on Divorcing D&D From [EDIT: Medievalishness], Mechanically Speaking.

I'd look back at d20 versions of the game. D20 modern would be a great start for ideas but if you can find them, the old polyhedron magazines had some cool settings, I recall it had a pulp era setting that fits that late 1800s/early 1900s feel.
