Because Steven doesn't have what it takes to survive in the world of Greyhawk. "Can't hug your way out of this one, Steve".

Did you ever watch the show? Actually, correction. Did you watch the ENDING of the show?

He is a nigh-immortal capable of shattering just about anything, and was strong enough to just instant-murder people. When he was convinced he was a monster for accidentally killing someone, he turned into a 400 ft giant monster. Not sure "power" was an issue with him.

Secondly, are we mocking finding peaceful resolutions to a centuries old conflict? Really? Being kind and understanding to other people doesn't make you weak or foolish. And certainly not "HA! You foolish person who doesn't want to murder everyone, you deserve to be driven insane for those ideas of peace and understanding!"

Why doesn't WOTC just MAKE A NEW DANGNABBED SETTING with all the IP characters they want to push and all the themes the 5e audience likes?

It seems so much less risky and has the added benefit of being new so people have to buy the new book to learn about it in order to love or hate it.

Because that wouldn't be touching on tradition for the 50 year anniversary.

Besides, they could make another strixhaven, theros, or Ravnica in the next few years

Like a standalone version of Witchlight or Radiant Citadel, or Strixhaven than made D&D's Gatekeepers cry tears of blood and crusade against them?

Why can't D&D fans have new, nice things? D&D fans.
No, more like a traditional D&D setting with an Tiefling Emperor with Imperial Hell Knights, a Dragonborn Army, Good Orcs, and I guess Aaaimar, Sorcerers, and Goliaths being major aspects somehow.

I just want to have a fight start with 7 Dragon Breaths and it being lore appropriate.

It's problematic if it's an insensitive characterature of a real world people or culture. Since the Radiant Citadel does not resemble any real world culture it is not problematic.

It's not problematic to have a political system we may not approve of. Otherwise they would have to remove all those monarchies!

Every single subsetting connected to the Radiant Citadel was based on a real world culture and we already know which are which. First adventure is fantasy Thialand for example.

What are things that never happened. There was no anti Strixhaven and Witchlight crusades. There was some concerns on the quality.

And Radiant Citadel had some concerns on how its economy worked.

I'd rather they didn't "mess up" anyone's old favorite setting, myself...
How are they “messing up” anyone’s old favorite setting? If it’s THAT old, it hasn’t seen any new material in ages and DMs who love those settings have created their own stuff.
